Epsom Salt Soak Benefits

Epsom Salt Soak Benefits

Epsom salts have been used in healing baths for centuries after a cow farmer stumbled upon its benefits in the early 1600s. As the story goes, he noticed his cattle avoiding drinking a specific puddle of water. When he bent down to take a sip himself, what he tasted was extremely bitter. At the bottom of the puddle, he discovered the salt-like substance.

As time went on, he noticed his cows that bathed in puddles containing the natural substance had woulds that healed faster. By the end of the century, the bitter salt was named after the town of Epsom near its discovery. At that point, people had been traveling to Epsom in search of the salts for healing wounds, disease and to purge their bodies of impurities.
